Job Description

KiNNO is currently looking for an EU Projects Financial Manager, with both strong analytical and soft skills.

As an EU Project Financial Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective financial monitoring of EU and national funded projects. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful financial administration and reporting of grants. You will perform budgeting, monitoring and reporting activities and will carry out important operational duties closely with the project management teams, aligning with both EU and national regulations and guidelines.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Grant Proposal Support: Contribute to the financial and administrative preparations of project proposals and tenders, ensuring they meet EU and national funding guidelines. Collaborate with team members to gather necessary information.
  • Project Financial Management, Budgeting & Tracking: Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring proper allocation and utilization of funds.Review, analyze, and summarize project financial information. Prepare financial reports and forecasts in compliance with funding bodies’ guidelines. Planning of Person-months (PMS) effort allocation to the EU projects. Eligibility control of the personnel costs, equipment, travel and other expenses, work packages, deliverables etc
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports to funding bodies. Maintain comprehensive records of all grant-related activities and correspondence. Provide response to funding bodies’ queries and assist during audits. Any other administrative, legal and/or financial management related to the project (amendments, communications to the EC…)
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all grant activities comply with relevant EU and national regulations. Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with grant management. Manage relevant internal processes, risk management, control systems and reporting tools.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Act as the primary financial point of contact for funding bodies and project stakeholders. Maintain strong relationships and ensure effective communication throughout the grant lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years progressive experience in financial reporting in multi-party consortium projects and deep knowledge on EU projects’ financial rules (mainly Horizon Europe, ENI, COSME, Erasmus+, Interreg, GSRI)
  • BSc or MSc Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration
  • Excellent knowledge of English (certified)

Additional Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of EU and national grant funding mechanisms and regulations.
  • Good project management and financial tracking skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project needs.

  • Creative thinking, problem-solving, analytical skills, able to navigate ambiguous and complex issues.
